A training program in order to develop a specific expertise in the management and regulation of Blockchain, Distributed Ledger Technologies, Smart Contracts and Tokenization.
A blockchain is set of records, called blocks, that are linked using cryptography. Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data: by design, a blockchain is resistant to modification of the data and operates as an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way.
By using algorithmic tools such as Smart Contracts, Blockchain allows people and organisations to reach agreement on and permanently record transactions and information in a transparent way without a central authority. It has been recognised as an important tool for building a fair, inclusive, secure and democratic digital economy. This has significant implications for how we think about many of our economic, social and political institutions.
Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) have the potential to bring great improvements to the European industry and citizens. They enable companies, from start-ups to large corporates, and administrations to provide decentralised, trusted, transparent and user-centric digital services. This can lead to new and improved business models, benefiting society and stimulating sustainable economic growth. These technologies are transforming the way we use the internet and digital services globally.
The executive program will be initiated through one of the BILL open innovation and experimentalist research projects, providing an overview of the main characteristics of these emerging technologies, connecting legal, technical, managerial and economic expertise in order to offer an extensive set of tools for positioning participants at the forefront of blockchain innovation and uptake.
